What is Hematite?
I started prospecting for Gold in 2007, at the end of the day we would clean out the sluice box and pan out the concentrates and we found magnetic black sands with the gold. I didn’t pay much attention to it then, but now in 2025 the world is changing and returning to older natural ways, and come to find out, Hematite is used to remagnetize soils, to combine with the 5th element, the Aether. Hematite is known as the “stone of the mind” because it’s said to enhance focus, clarity, and logical thinking. If you’re feeling scattered, holding or wearing hematite can help bring you back to the present moment.
Hematite is an iron oxide mineral (Fe₂O₃) and one of the most abundant rocks on Earth. Its name comes from the Greek word haima, meaning “blood,” because when powdered, hematite turns reddish. Ancient civilizations associated it with vitality and strength, and today, it remains a popular stone in jewelry, healing practices, and industry. Many people use hematite as a protective stone, believing it absorbs negative energy and creates a shielding effect around the wearer. It’s often recommended for empaths or those in high-stress environments.
Hematite is a grounding stone that is mostly used for protection and stability. The word "hematite" is derived from a Greek word that means "blood." As a result, it is known as the "bloodstone" and has been employed as a talisman against excessive blood flow. Hematite is a kind of iron ore that is made up of iron oxide crystals.
